Lula B. Kent, age 68, of Charleston, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri. She was the beloved daughter of Odell Kent and Rosie Kent, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Albert Dee Reed.

Born on April 18, 1957, in Charleston, Lula was a proud graduate of the Charleston Public School District. She was a gifted seamstress and was known for her strong work ethic throughout her career prior to retirement. Lula was a woman of deep faith who professed her belief in God and was an active member of her church community. She often shared her testimony and spoke of God's goodness with those around her. Her kindness and generosity were evident in the way she gave selflessly to others, often offering her last to help someone in need.

Lula spent several years residing in Bloomington, Illinois, before returning to her hometown of Charleston later in life.

She leaves to cherish her memories one son, Victor Kent; one brother, Odell Kent of Charleston, MO; and six sisters: Rosie Ivy, Lucille (Kevin) Anderson, and Geraldine Fisher, all of Charleston, MO; Jessie B. (Charles) Gillespie of Howardsville, MO; Lori Ann Kent of Sikeston, MO; and Betty Jo (RV) Oliver of Mayfield, KY. She is also survived by one granddaughter, Anastasia Cox of Kansas City, MO, and three grandchildren: Tamarion Phillips, Zariah Rollins, and Edward Rollins III, all of Kansas City, MO; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will miss her dearly.

Visitation will be from noon until the funeral hour at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 27, 2025, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.
