Ruby Lee (Massey) Prince entered eternal life on Friday, September 6, 2024 in Paducah, Kentucky. She was one of nine children born to Noah O. Massey, and Opal Clemens Massey. Ruby grew up in West Paduch in the Highpoint Community. The Massey’s raised their children on a farm, so Ruby was no stranger to hard work. Ruby graduated from Heath High School in 1953.
Ruby married Wayne Lee Prince in 1954. To this union, five children were born. Ruby and Wayne lived in several locations before establishing their permanent household on Clarks River Road in Paducah. During this time, Ruby went to beauty college and became a licensed beautician. Ruby owned and operated a beauty shop for over 50 years.
For enjoyment, Ruby loved to garden, can fruits and vegetables, sew and crochet, but most of her time was spent watching out for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Ruby was of the Christian Faith, and was a member of Oaklawn Baptist Church. She surrendered her life to Christ at an early age. She believed that having Christ in her life was important. She encouraged her children to attend church from an early age.
Retirement life for Ruby kept her just as busy as when she was working. She sewed, and crocheted for almost everyone she knew.
In addition to her parents, Ruby is preceded in death by her husband: Wayne Lee Prince; an infant daughter: Bonita Prince; her brothers: Louis Massey, John Massey, Bill Massey, Noah C. Massey, and Cliff Massey; her grandson: Joshua Prince; and her son-in-law: Joe Langston.
She is survived by her daughters: Roxana Langston of Paducah, and Sabina Garrett (Rusty) of Olustee, Oklahoma; her sons: Roger Prince (Maura Feaheny) of Brentwood, Tennessee, and Antonio Prince of Paducah, Kentucky; her sisters: Mary Louise Neuhausel-Harris of Paducah, Kentucky, and Evelyn Trichel of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; her brother: Oscar Massey (Jane) of West Paducah, Kentucky; her five grandchildren: Chase Hawes, Channing Klein, Austin Searles, Jacob Garrett, and Patricia Garrett; and her four great grandchildren.
Services for Ruby Lee Prince will be held 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at Keeling & Goodman Funeral Home with Bro. Tommy Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Palestine Cemetery in West Paduch. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 10, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour. Keeling & Goodman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
