Ruby Mae Redman, 91, went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 13, 2026. A funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, February 17, 2026 in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Interment will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Ruby was born on March 9, 1934, in Lawn, Texas, to Ray and Hollis Workman. She married the love of her life, Curtis Redman, on January 23, 1953, in Ballinger, Texas, with Pastor Brooks officiating. Their marriage was a beautiful example of love, commitment, and devotion.
Ruby enjoyed spending time at the couple's lake cabin at Lake Brownwood, where many cherished memories were made. One of her greatest passions was teaching family and friends how to water ski-something she truly loved and excelled at. When at home, Ruby took pride in keeping a tidy house and working in her yard. She especially loved her flowers and spent many years mowing her own lawn, even having a lawn mower of her very own.
Above all, Ruby was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, caring sister, and loyal friend. She will be remembered for her strong faith, her hardworking spirit, and the love she shared so freely with those around her.
Her legacy of love and dedication will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Hollis Workman; six siblings, James Workman, Eldon (Shorty) Workman, Arthur (Butch) Workman, Dean Workman, Mary Piel, and Jimmie Workman.
Ruby is survived by her husband of 73 years, Curtis Redman; her children, Mark Redman, and Anna Redman; her grandson, Clint Vallejo; three siblings, Myrtie Bales, Dorothy Wadsworth, and David Workman and his wife Brenda; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.
