Ruby Irene Rice

On the morning of April 26, 2025, Ruby Irene Rice, loving wife, sweet mama and nana was given her angel wings and entered eternal life to be with our Lord. Born on November 14, 1943, she was a daughter to the late Horace G. and Ollie Buckner Rice.
Ruby was a faithful and longtime church member at Locust Grove Baptist Church. Her ministry included caring for others and being available to help when needed. She made sure her children grew up with Christian and hardworking values. For many years, she owned and operated her own beauty shop out of her home. Ruby had a great sense of humor and loved gardening, canning, sewing, traveling and spending time at the lake. Making molasses with her family was one of her favorite times of year, as well as shopping with her girls.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Horace Rice, Jr.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 63 years, Charles Raymond Rice; sons, Durwin Rice (Shelley), and Kelsey Rice; sister, Reba Wilde (Lester); grandchildren, Devin Rice (Madison), and Austin Rice (Brooke); and one great grandson, Charlie Ray Rice.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon, Wednesday April 30, 2025 in Locust Grove Baptist Church. Reverend Brent Snyder will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
