Ruby Strawhand Richardson

Ruby S. Richardson, 93, of Chesapeake, passed away on Friday December 30, 2022. Born in Princess Anne County, she was the daughter of the late Emmett and Elsie Strawhand. She was also predeceased by her loving husband of 62 years, William "Bill" Richardson, Jr., a brother, Roy Strawhand and a sister, Hazel Phipps.
Ruby lived in Great Bridge for more than 60 years where she was a member of Great Bridge Baptist for 63 years. She was also a member of the Fellowship Bible Class, The Chesapeake Christian Women's Club and Chesapeake General Auxiliary.
Ruby is survived by her daughter, Cathy Richardson Black; son-in-law, Buddy Black; daughter, Susan Wormell and son-in-law, Tom Wormell; grandchildren, Wayne Black, Michael and Matthew Wormell; great-grandchildren, Gabriela Black and Westly Wormell.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Friday, January 6, 2023 at the Great Bridge Chapel of Oman Funeral Home 653 Cedar Road Chesapeake, 23322. Interment will follow in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The viewing will begin on Friday with the family receiving friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
