Ruby Belle Ricks

Ruby Belle (Miller) Ricks, went to her Heavenly home on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at Eastgate Nursing and Rehabilitation in Washington, Indiana. She was born July 4, 1930, in Quinlan, Woodward County, Oklahoma to Charlie Scott Miller and Clara Mae (Burkhart) Miller. She was the first of her family to graduate High School at Mooreland, OK. Ruby married Charles O. Ricks in Mooreland, OK on October 17, 1950. They lived in Missouri and had two daughters; Donna and Deborah. They moved to the family farm in 1955 south of Maysville near Washington.
Ruby was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, fishing, squirrel, and mushroom hunting. She looked forward to the annual vacation trips to Oklahoma to visit her family. After the death of her husband Charles, she worked at Etiennes farm market. She was a member of the Maysville United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson John Kenworthy, and siblings Loren Miller, Delmar Miller, Maxine Dillinger, Bonnie Davidson, Verda Gantz, and Lois Roedell. Ruby is survived by her daughters Donna Overton (Gary) of Washington, IN and Deborah Kenworthy (John) of Ferdinand, IN. Also, granddaughters Lisa Demontagnac (Howard) and Marsha Matteson (Brandon Smith) of Washington and great grandchildren; Jacob Overton, Jordan and Chloe Demontagnac and Coby Robinson.
Funeral services for Ruby will be held at Goodwin Sievers Funeral Home 2020 State St., Washington, IN 47501 on July 18, 2022 at 3:00pm with Pastor Jason Johnston officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00pm until the time of the service at 3:00pm. Burial will follow in the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Maysville United Methodist Church.
