Ruby DiAnn Robinson Hawkins, born in 1947 in Emory, Texas, passed away peacefully in her home on May 26, 2025, in Dallas, Texas. DiAnn throughout her career held several job titles, but her greatest pride was her role as an administrator through the Garland Independent School District She was known for her dedication to the students, their education, and the community. Throughout her life, she exemplified the values of hard work, independence, and compassion, always striving to help others while encouraging her children to excel.
As a loving mother and grandmother, DiAnn cherished her family above all. She is survived by her daughters, Heather Michaell Hawkins and Adrienne DiAnn Scott, along with her beloved granddaughters, Mai Massey, Madeleine Massey, and Amelia Scott. DiAnn's legacy lives on through their accomplishments and the values she instilled in them. She took immense pride in her children's achievements, always pushing them to pursue their dreams and seize every opportunity.
DiAnn was known for her brilliant mind and her sneaky sense of humor, which often shone through in the most unexpected situations. She had a variety of interests, holding dear her passions for reading, crocheting, and other craft activities, as well as being a fabulous cook who prepared meals that brought joy to those around her.
Throughout her life, DiAnn maintained her independence and a desire for organization, always ensuring that everything was kept in place and well managed. Her commitment to those values is a testament to her character and influence as a role model to her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Daniel Jack Robinson; her mother, Ruby Prue Robinson Yancey; and her siblings: Daniel Robinson, J.B. Robinson, Imogene Robinson, and Margie Sumrow.
In honor of DiAnn's life, visitation will be held on May 31, 2025, at Wilson - Orwosky Funeral Home in Emory, Texas, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., followed by the funeral service from 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Ruby will be interred at Dunbar Cemetery following the service at 12:00 p.m., where family and friends can pay their final respects.
Ruby DiAnn Robinson Hawkins will be deeply missed and remembered lovingly by those whose lives she touched. Her passion for life, family values, and unwavering support for her loved ones will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
