Ruby Sachs Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Pitman Funeral Homes & Cremation Services - Wentzville Chapel on Feb. 26, 2026.
Ruby Sachs, age 89, of St. Paul, Missouri, passed away on February 24, 2026, after a long and meaningful life. She was the beloved wife of Wallace Sachs (deceased), with whom she shared 64 years of devotion, partnership, and companionship.

Ruby is survived by her two daughters: Melissa (Harry) Jackson of Wentzville, MO, and Tammie (Joshua) Knopp of Wildwood, MO. She was a proud grandmother to Travis (Ashley) Schalk, Victoria (Vince) Sagez, and Dalton (Kelly) Murray, and a loving great-grandmother to Alicyn Sagez and Madison Schalk, as well as her sister Cathy Broyles.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Lee and Elizabeth Zita Benedict (nee Eggering); her brothers Ralph Benedict, Dale Benedict, Jack Benedict, and Gene Benedict.

Ruby worked as a Unit Secretary for Christian Hospital North East for 25 years, where her steady presence, compassion, and dedication supported countless patients and staff. After retiring, she continued caring for her beloved family members, offering the same warmth and attentiveness that defined her throughout her life.

Ruby enjoyed life in the most heartfelt ways-watching her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren grow. She found joy in feeding her hummingbirds, spending quiet hours working on puzzles, and participating in prayer hour at her church.

In her later years, Ruby lived at Twin Oaks at Heritage Pointe in Wentzville, where she blossomed as a true social butterfly. She loved playing bingo, blackjack, cornhole, and chair volleyball, and she looked forward to these games each day with her many friends. Her laughter, enthusiasm, and friendly competitiveness made her a cherished part of the community.

Ruby was famous for her heartfelt "I love you" and her warm "Thank you for all you do," phrases she shared generously and sincerely. These simple words became her signature-an expression of gratitude, affection, and the deep appreciation she held for the people in her life. Ruby leaves behind countless dear memories for her family and friends, each one a reminder of her kindness, her joy, and the love she gave so freely.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Theresa Society and St. Joseph Indian School in care of Pitman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 248, Wentzville, MO 63385.

The family is being served by Pitman Funeral Home, Wentzville.
