Ruby Scott Obituary

Published by Weed Corley Fish Funeral Homes and Cremation Services - North on Jun. 14, 2008.
Ruby Britton Scott October 23, 1932 ~ June 14, 2008 Daughter of Ethel Thurman Britton and Jewel Britton. Ruby is survived by sisters, Bettie Nitcholas and Gail Wall. Another sister, Linda, died recently. Ruby's early life was spent in McKinney, Texas, where she graduated from high school. She married Lynn Scott in 1952 and they had three children; Debra, Don, and Danny. She is survived by her husband and children; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In 1968 the Scott family moved to Austin and Ruby entered The University of Texas where she obtained a Masters Degree. She subsequently worked with social services and volunteered much of her time to those in need. She was a member of the Texas Graphoanalysis Society and the Jung Society. Ruby donated her time and money to numerous causes to help improve our environment and to protect neglected animals and those facing extinction. She was truly a lady with a soft and kind heart. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel. Interment will follow at Austin Memorial Park. Obituary and guestbook online at wcfish.com

Having first met Ruby Scott through the Jung Society of Austin, she was such a delight to know. Devoting much of her time, she was a much-need resource in the start-up phase of a research project sponsored by the Institute For Neuroscience And Consciousness Studies (INACS), Ruby will be remembered for her invaluable help in our now-ongoing work in the field of handwriting analysis and psychological type.

I knew Ruby through her work with the Jung Society. She was always a gracious and gentle person, kind hearted and supportive. I know many will her seeing her smiling face there; I certainly will.

Mr. Scott & Family,
I am thinking about you all. Ruby was wonderful as a wife, mother and person and one of the sweetest ladies I have ever known. How blessed we all were for having her in our lives.
Love to all of you from me, my Mom and Lori.
