Ruby Carolyn "Huny" Sexton

Ruby "Carolyn" Sexton, a beautiful soul with a warm heart, passed away on July 3, 2023. Carolyn was born November 13, 1945, in Merkel, Texas to Kirkton B Rhynes and Ruby Mae (Harris) Rhynes. She was raised in Abilene, Texas.
In 1963 she married Allen Doyle Davis and together they were blessed with two daughters, Julie Marcell "Marcy" (Davis) Burk and Kimberly Sue (Davis) Buster. They raised their family in California. Carolyn was remarried in 2001 to John Lee Sexton she often said he was her soulmate. After losing John, Carolyn, with her daughters and their families moved to Missouri in 2004. It was a fun, wild trek across country with three women, seven kids, three dogs and a bird!
Carolyn spent most of her life working with children as a teacher's aide, a preschool teacher and later at a church preschool all the while babysitting her grandchildren then great grandchildren whenever an opportunity presented itself. She loved making crafts, writing poems and yacking on the telephone! Carolyn was a Christian who loved God and her family with her entire heart.
Carolyn will be deeply missed by her youngest daughter Kimberly Buster and husband Gary of Billings, Missouri, son-in-law Allen Burk of Ozark, Missouri; she was known by all of her grands as "Huny" and loved them each dearly; their lives are more because she was and less because she is gone grandchildren are Chad Burk and wife Stephanie of San Antonio, Texas, Dustin Kendrick and fiancé, Morgan Rudderham of Republic, Missouri, Kirkton Burk and wife Janell of Ozark, Missouri, Kourtney Burk of Seymore, Missouri, Shane Kendrick and wife Sarah of Clever, Missouri; great grandchildren, Baylor, Kash, Kade, Zana, Lilly, Kolby, Cortlynn, Remington and Kizer, also missing Carolyn every moment are her sisters Judy Lines and husband Skip of Abilene, Texas, and Sandra Markey of Grant's Pass Oregon; as well as many wonderful nieces and nephews.
Carolyn was welcomed to heaven by her parents Kirkton and Ruby Rhynes, husband John Sexton, daughter Julie Marcell Burk and sister Patsy Mae Davis.
Her beautiful smile, easy laughter and generous heart will be sorely missed by all who loved her.
A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, July 17, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Springfield National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her soulmate, John.
