Chris Carpenter

Muncie – Drew Christie "Chris" Carpenter, 73, passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at I.U. Health Ball Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Columbus, Georgia, the son of Jesse Franklin and Carrie Lee (Morton) Carpenter.
Chris was a carpenter by trade and owned D.C. Builders for many years. He also did carpentry for Minnetrista Museum and Gardens.
He was an avid car and motorcycle enthusiast, owning several street rods through the years. Chris also enjoyed carpentry and spending time with his family and many friends.
Survivors include his sweetheart of fifty-three years, Beth Carpenter; children, Drew Carpenter (Jessica), Christy Carpenter-Atkins and Jill McDuffee; grandchildren, Ethan, Grace, Brynleigh, Ashley, Amber, Andrew and Jessica; nieces and nephews, Cortney, Jessica, David, Jennifer and Patrick; also surviving are several great-grandchildren, great nieces and great nephews.
Chris was preceded in death by his son, Shane Carpenter; two brothers, Joe Carpenter and Gordon Carpenter; along with his parents.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 5, 2025 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel with Pastor John Helton officiating. Burial will follow in Tomlinson Cemetery.
Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Friday at the mortuary.
