Ruby Freda Simpkins, 77 years old of Philadelphia passed away peacefully on April 24, 2024.
Ruby was the daughter of the late Bennie Summers, Viola Summers and was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She graduated from John Bartram High School.
She was a member of MT Enon Baptist Church. She enjoyed family, travel, and singing on the inspirational choir.
Beloved wife of the late Edward Simpkins; Loving Mother to Camille Taylor (Bryant), Leah Rogers, preceded in death by sons Karim Simpkins and Khary Rogers, Sr. Cherished Grandmother to ten Grandchildren and four Great Grandchildren. Also survived by her brothers Benjamin Summers, Jr., and Eugene Summers, and her sister in-law Doretha Summers and preceded in death by her sisters Thelma Spells (Willis), Elizabeth Little (William), Essie Crew (Willie), brothers Clearance Summers and Rodgers Summers (Pamela), and two sister in-laws Hattie and Rose. She is predeceased by her many relatives who passed on before her. She is also survived by many nephews, nieces, cousins and more.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing Friday May 3, 2024 10am, Sayers Memorial United Methodist Church, S. 61st St. & Catharine St. Philadelphia, PA 19143 and to her Funeral Service 11am in the Church. Int. Glenwood Memorial Gardens.
