Ruby Meeks Smith, age 95, of Gainesville, GA went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 12, 2026. Ruby was born in 1930, to the late Wiley H. and Eler Shore Meeks. She was a seamstress for 54 years locally and was a Sunday School teacher for 35 years. Ruby faithfully served with her loving husband for 51 years as a Pastor's wife for Liberty Baptist Church in Gillsville (4 years), Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Lula, GA (31 years), and Pleasant Union Baptist Church in Gainesville, GA (16 years). She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister and friend to many. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Steve A. Smith; brother, Lester Meeks; sister, Myrtle Standridge; daughter-in-law, Judy Gayle Smith.

She is survived by her loving husband of 77 years, Rev. Ralph O. Smith; son, Dr. Jerry O. Smith; grandchildren, Kacee (Tim) Criddle, Amy (Cory) Tucker, Renee (Chris) Porter, and Stephanie (Ray) Perez; great grandchildren, Elijah Thompson, Jacob Criddle, Madison Smith, Olivia Bloom, Ryleigh Tucker, Watson Porter, Henry Porter, Ruby Perez, and Hunter Perez; great-great grandchildren, Paisley and Eleanor Bloom; sister, Lillian Addison; along with many other loving relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 14, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home in Gainesville, GA with Rev. Bill Manus, and Rev. Jason Buice officiating. The interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens in Gainesville, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of service.
