Mrs. Ruby T. Stodghill

Ruby T. Stodghill was born to Andrew and Florence Griffin in Liberty, Texas on June 2, 1910 and passed away on June 11, 2010 at the age of 100. She was preceded in death by her husband, George C. Stodghill, in 1962. Also, preceding her in death are five brothers and one sister, Homer, Merritt, Dee, Truman, Roby, and Jewel Griffin. Ruby attended East Texas State Teachers’ College in Commerce, TX and at the age of 18 she taught school for four years. She retired from the Texas State Quail Farm in Tyler, TX in 1969. After she retired, she moved to the family farm in Quinlan, TX and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Terrell, TX. She enjoyed living at Appletree Court Assisted Living in Richardson, TX where she received excellent care and made many friends during the past nine years. She is survived by her son, Lyndon Stodghill and wife Linda of Richardson, Tx, daughter, Janeice Hargrave and husband Bob of Heath, TX, son Travis Stodghill and wife Donna of Quinlan, Tx and son, Dale Stodghill and wife Margie of Ft. Worth, Tx. She will, also, be remembered by her friends, three granddaughters, Angela Corder and husband Shawn, Amy Stodghill, And Jennifer Hodges and husband Mike; two grandsons, Derek Stodghill and wife Abbey and Drew Stodghill and wife Meghan; three great grandchildren, Cindy and Claire Corder and Lily Stodghill; nieces, nephews and two sisters-in-law.
