Ruby Streeter Obituary

Ruby M. Streeter age 86 of Marshall passed away on May 20, 2011 . She was born November 19, 1924 in Prestonsburg, KY to Benjamin and Minnie (Hackworth) Woods. She graduated from Prestonsburg High School in 1942 then attended Pikeville Community College. In 1943 she moved to Albion to work at Albion Malleable. In 1944 she married Lloyd Streeter. He preceded her in death in 1980. Ruby enjoyed gardening, sewing and crocheting and was a member of the Marshall Women of the Moose. Ruby was a lab tech at Corning Glass Works in Albion from 1950. In August 1975 she transferred to the Corning facility in Greenville, OH where she retired in 1985. She is survived by a very special companion, Ron Knaack, three sons, Terry (Linda) of Glendale, AZ, Ken (Dani) of Marshall and Jim (Mary) of Ypsilanti, and one sister, Ethel Lowrie of Battle Creek. She is also survived by seven grandchildren Scot, Rob, Monica, Korrin, Andrew, Michael & David Streeter, 14 great grandchildren and very special friends, Nancy Stemen & Kay Cull who thought of Ruby as their Mother. She was also preceded in death by her parents and three sisters. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4 PM to 7 PM at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 723 Old US 27 North, Marshall, MI. A funeral service to celebrate the gift of her life will be held 10:30 Monday, May 23, 2011 at the funeral home with Reverend James Codde officiating. Memorial donations may be directed to Oaklawn Homecare/Hospice or Marshall Women of the Moose.
