Ruby Szeles Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Pulliam Funeral Home - Robinson on Sep. 16, 2024.
Mrs. Ruby Louise Szeles, 101 years old of Indianapolis, Indiana went to Heaven September 16, 2024 at Franciscan Hospice in Indianapolis, IN., following several strokes in recent months.
Ruby Louise Watts, was born August 8, 1923, one of six children born to Roy W. and Mae (Roe) Watts, in Annapolis, IL. Louise, as she preferred to be called, graduated Robinson Township High School in 1941, a great accomplishment in those days. Following high school, Louise worked several jobs in the area, mostly in office work, and on April 10, 1953, married Mr. Frank Szeles. The couple later moved to Indianapolis where Louise found employment as a bookkeeper for F. W. Woolworth Dry Goods Company and later as a bookkeeper at Indianapolis Power and Light Co., from which she retired in 1985.
Louise and Frank were devout Christians having memberships first at Pleasant Run Evangelical Reformed Church for 30 years and then joining the Prince of Peace United Church of Christ in Bargersville, IN where she has been a faithful member since 1984.
Louise was the last surviving member of her siblings and by far the oldest of any of them. She and Frank had no children but adored their nieces and nephews as if they were their own children. Her care givers, Brian and Penny Watts were so attentive to Louise's needs, checking on her daily and assisting her with her daily needs until she moved to assisted living in these last few years.
Preceding Louise in death are her parents, her husband Frank in 2003, her brother and his wife, Roy E. and Rose Watts; her sisters Berniece Buchanan, Dorothy Lantz, Lenore Goetz and Mary E. Thompson and their husbands.
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Ruby Louise Szeles will be held Thursday September 19, 2024, at 1:00 pm at the New Robinson Cemetery with Pastor Tony Reed officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 am Thursday September 19, 2024, until the time of services at 1:00 pm at Pulliam Funeral Home in Robinson, IL.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Hospice House of the Franciscan Alliance, 8778 Madison Avenue, Ste. 100, Indianapolis, IN 46277-
