Ruby Margie Brown Thompson, 85, formerly of Spartanburg, died Saturday, August 24, 2013, at Golden Age Nursing Home in Inman, SC. Born April 2, 1928, in Spartanburg, she was a daughter of the late Ira Oscar and Annie Marie Bonner Brown and was the widow of H. H. Tommy Thompson. She was retired from Butte Knit, was a personal caregiver for 20 years, and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include a daughter, Scotti Bennett (Russell) of Pauline; grandson Robby Becknell (Donna) of Spartanburg; two brothers, Harold Brown of Spartanburg and James E. Brown (Edna) of Inman; a sister, Lilly Bell Hatchette of Spartanburg; and a special friend, Kathy Holder. She was predeceased by a son, Timothy Burkhart; grandson, Ira Paul Becknell; three sisters; and three brothers. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, August 27, 2013, conducted by the Rev. John Cox, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Visitation will follow the service at the graveside. Floyd's North Church Street Chapel
