Ruby Brecheen Thornton

Ruby Brecheen Thornton, age 92, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, July 24, 2017 at the Sunrise Sr. Living in Baton Rouge after a fruitful and faithful life. She was born on March 30, 1925 in Pine Grove LA and was the 5th of 10 children. After graduation from High School, she was employed by the Louisiana Labor Department for 32 years before retiring to do what she loved best - working in her yard. Ruby, a kind and giving soul, was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church in Denham Springs. She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Mr. & Mrs. C.M. Brecheen; Husband, Dallas C. Thornton; Brothers, Milton, Leon, Charles, and Clovis Brecheen; Sisters, Lovie Noble, Marie Wilson, Eunice Allen, and Myrtle Lee Brecheen. She is survived by her sisters Jessie Thompson, Helen May; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 27, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with services immediately following at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs. Burial will be at the Denham Springs Memorial Cemetery. Dr. Leo Miller and Rev. Bain Stagg will conduct the services. Refreshments will be served at the funeral home immediately following the burial. Pallbearers will be Nathan Crifasi, Jim Crifasi, Tim Thompson, Jeremy Thompson, Robert Wilson, and Donald Leger.
