Deepest condolences to the family. I have known Ruby at different times of my life - when our children were young and again with The League of Women Voters.
I will remember Ruby as a "super" mom and a caring person for others and her community.
It was a privilege to have known her.

Dear Ed,
I was shocked to see Ruby's obituary. I had no idea that she was ill. It was aways a pleasure to see both of you at the grocery store. It was also a lot of fun over the years to work with both you at The Bushnell. Her dedication to her work was to be admired. I'm so sorry for your loss. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Ruby was one of my very best friends since I was a a young kid. Ruby convinced my Dad to let me go to Enfield Stage Company when I was a young teenager and I got to do Ruby's ghost makeup for her in "Blithe Spirit" when she played Elvira.
Years later I got to play that same role in a Holyoke Community College Alumni Theater Production and dedicated my performance to my ELVIRA mentor - Ruby.
The day after she went to heaven to be with the angels, I dedicated my performance at The Players Centre for Performing Arts in Sarasota, FL. in THE CRUCIBLE to Ruby. I will miss her forever.

I will never forget Ruby!! I met her on a few occasions and she always had a gleam in her eye that she was very young at heart and ready to get up and go at a moments notice!! I remember one occasion very vividly, and it wasn't long before she got quite ill, that Bill and I were just finishing up our dinner at Fridays and lo and behold who walks in but Ruby and Ed who immediately sat at the bar and everyone behind the bar greeted them by name!!! It surprised me until I walked over to say hello to both of them and Ruby wanted us to join them and I realized it was 8 p.m. and it was way past the usual time we were back home from dinner and had to turn down the invitation to have a drink with them!! After telling Randi that I was surprised to see them going out sooooo late, lol.... she said that they were definitely regulars at Fridays and that was their usual place for a nite cap and snack before retiring for the evening!! I could only hope to have 1/2 the energy Ruby had right up till the end!!

Ruby was one of the all time greats. As kids we knew no one as cool as Ruby. We adored her, we fought over who got to sleep over her house. We never wanted to leave. The world has lost a great person. My Condolences to Ed, Randi and Nanci.
