CELEBRATING THE LIFE OF RUBY WALKER
10-12-1941 to 01-10-2026
If you knew Ruby, you would never forget her. She was a unique original; independent, feisty, strong-willed, outgoing, determined, friendly, generous, and quite a communicator. Her life was full and adventurous for 85 years.
Ruby graduated from Blue Mountain College and received a Masters in Psychology from William Carey College.
She started a teaching career at Fort Polk Elementary teaching Special Ed..
During her spare time she raised and showed Tennessee Walking Horses.
She later moved to West Monroe, La where she opened a street mission for under-privileged children. She spent a year with Rick Renner Ministry in Russia where she adopted her life
long companion (her 100 lb German Shepherd- Subaca).
Ruby later moved to Crested Butte, Colorado where she worked as a supervisor for Grand Lodge Ski Resort for many years. She made lifelong friends with some customers.
Finally retiring to Fairfield Bay, Arkansas she bought a home on the Mountain Ranch golf course and became an avid golfer. She had many golfing buddies at the Pro Shop.
Ruby's chosen church was Pheasant Valley Baptist Church in Shirley, Arkansas where she was treated warmly. She adored the Pastor and every member.
Ruby was the first of 3 children born to Garland and Audell Walker of Magee, Mississippi on October 12, 1941. Her parents and her brother Leon Walker, will greet her in Heaven. She is survived by her sister, Alice Little. Also surviving: Alice's children: Sean and his wife Julie and their 3 children, Logan, Luke and Zack. Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Melissa and Keiith Smith, Brandon, Mississippiand her 3 Children Alisha (deceased), Christy and Andrew, Monticello Mississippi Also surviving is Barbara Walker, The lovely wife of Ruby's brother, Leon who resides in Pensacola, Florida and their two daughters Julie, Pensacola Fla and Jennie, Tallahee, Florida.

A graveside gathering will be held at Floral Hills Cemetery, Brandon, Mississippi.at a later date.
A Special thanks to all her friends who did so many wonderful favors for her as her health slipped away.
