Ruby Waller, born Salyers on June 8, 1951, in Sitka, Kentucky, to Miltie and Annis Salyers, passed away at her home in Wabash, Indiana, on September 25, 2025. She was a beloved mother, a cherished friend, and a remarkable individual whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of many.
Ruby attended Johnson County High School. Her passion for crafting brought her endless joy and a sense of accomplishment, allowing her to express her creativity in various beautiful forms. A devoted fan of classic country music, Ruby often found herself lost in the lyrics and melodies that resonated with her soul. She also had an appreciation for the films and television shows of the mid to late 20th century, frequently reminiscing about their charm and the stories they told.
Though Ruby's marriage to Theodore Waller did not endure, it was blessed with two children, who survive her and carry forward her legacy. Her enduring spirit and love for life will surely continue to inspire them in the years to come.
The loving memory of Ruby Waller will be forever cherished by her daughter, Melanie Lynn (David) Sargent; son, Theodore Allen Waller; sister, Mildred Cantrell; grandchildren, Lyndze (Brandon) Freeman; Blair Waller, and Jordan Waller; great-grandchildren, Kaedance Freeman, Amelia Freeman, and Ava Mayo. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Art and Tootie Salyers.
The family of Ruby Waller will grieve privately.
The family of Ruby Waller has entrusted McKee Mortuary with care and final arrangements.
