Ruby Louise Wilburn

Ruby Louise Wilburn, 82, of Maysville, departed this life on July 15, 2025.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Denise Hernandez of Maysville, Michelle Flickinger (Dale Jr.) of Maysville, Sherry Ann Powers of Maysville and Sheila Stevens (Sam) of Florida; brothers, Johnny Southard of Grantsboro, Jimmy Southard of Jacksonville, Herman Southard of Iowa and Roger Southard of NC; sisters, Rebecca Squires of Grantsboro, Linda Southard, Nina Brown, Betty Talman, Kitty Gaile Cantor and Sara Hunt all of NC; grandchildren, Barry Budbill, Crystal Glission, Brian Fry, Amy Flickinger-Bottum, Serena Flickinger, Johnathon Hart, Christina Trevino, Jessica Wilburn and Heather Filingame and other grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; Opal and many other cousins in Mt. Airy, NC; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Ruby is preceded in death by her father and mother, Raymond and Lillian Southard and son, Donald Marvin Fry-Clifford.
Ruby wasn't just a family member; she was the vibrant heart that held us all together. As a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and even great-great-grandmother, her influence spanned generations, shaping countless lives with her warmth and unwavering love. She was a cherished daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, trusted confidante, and a loyal friend to many.
Ruby's legacy extends far beyond the simple titles of family relation. She was the glue, the bedrock upon which countless memories were built. We will remember her infectious smile, generous heart, and her unwavering dedication to her family and friends.
A Celebration of Ruby's Life will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday July 22, 2025, at Kahlert Funeral Chapel in Maysville with interment to follow at New Bern Memorial Cemetery, New Bern, NC. The family will be receiving friends on Monday June 21, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the funeral home.
