RUBY LEE WILSON

April 17, 1939 – May 6, 2024

Bakersfield – Ruby Lee Wilson, 85, went to be with the Lord on May 6, 2024 in Bakersfield, CA. She loved Jesus. She loved ministering for Him, singing for Him, and worshiping Him. She loved her 4 children, Carolyn Sue Nead, the late Albert Lee Rushing, James Glenn Rushing, and Robert Shane White. She loved all her grandkids, great-grandkids, and all her extended family and friends. She loved her husband James (Jim) T. Wilson, who went to be with Jesus before her.

Ruby loved to sew, she loved to decorate cakes and garden, and she loved her dogs. She was never boring and went by the nickname Ruby Red Dress. She always had a Pepsi or Coke nearby and candy in a bowl or in the bottom drawer of her outdoor refrigerator, which the grandkids loved to sneak into. She always cared about her appearance, especially her hair and eyebrows. She was a night owl who loved to watch movies and late night shows. She loved to shop and eat out. She loved her coffee. She was at her best spending time one on one with people. She loved to dance and when you really got to know her, she loved to laugh. She was young at heart and she will be missed by all who knew her.

A memorial service was held on Monday, May 13, 2024 at Mission Family Mortuary, Bakersfield, CA. Service was officiated by Reverend Rebecca Best, her niece. Her final resting place is Greenlawn Southwest Cemetery, Bakersfield, CA.
