Ruby Pearl Wright Smith Nelson was born November 11,1935 in Spiro, OK to Richard Wright and Icy Pearl Wright. Ruby graduated from Spiro High School as Salutatorian.
She is survived by her son Randall Smith, grandson Preston Smith, step-daughters Dona Lincks (Charles) and Donna Nelson, and 6 step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Naomi Allen and Anita Garner, first husband Dwight Smith, second husband Stanley Nelson, 2 infant daughters, Renee and Cynthia and daughter-in-law Dana Smith.
Ruby retired from Stewart Title after 50 years as Sr. Vice President of Stewart Title North Texas, having been the head title examiner. She was former President of the Noon Business and Professional Women's Club, having been named their Woman of the Year in 1975. She also served as a former President of the Denton chapter of Soroptimist International.
Ruby was a member of Faith Tabernacle in Denton. Visitation will be held at DeBerry Funeral Home from 5PM to 7PM on Wednesday, April 15, 2026. Funeral services will be 9AM Thursday at Faith Tabernacle, with burial to follow at New Hope Cemetery in Spiro, OK.
