Rudy Brosig, Jr., age 56, from Karnes City passed away on Monday, December 4th 2023, in Austin, Texas.
He was a loving son, brother, and father. Rudy worked at his fathers, Rudy Sr, tire shop as well as serving as a police officer, corrections officer, and airport security. He also owned a local snow cone shop in Karnes City.
Rudy Jr. is preceded in death by his father Rudy Sr. and survived by his mother Victoria; siblings Carmen, Terry, and Oakland; and sons Justin and Matthew.
A viewing will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 9th, at Rhodes Funeral Home in Karnes City, followed by a Rosary at 5:00 p.m..
He thought the idea of an obituary about himself would have been too much fuss and left a letter behind stating that "he be thrown in the cheapest casket they had". He never wanted people to worry about him but was always the first person to worry about others. He sent a record number of text's to his sons simply asking "y'all doin ok?". He never asked "how hard the work was" or "how long it would take". He never left a job unfinished except for maybe mowing his mothers grass because by the time he got to the end of the land the beginning had grown back already.
He was the first to laugh, last to leave and first again to show up the next day to clean up. He was shockingly fast in a foot race and unbelievably light on the dance floor. He never had much but always had something to give. He was much too young to feel this damn old and he would never know how far his selflessness and sacrifice would ripple.
