Rudy was a resident of San Benito, Texas. He graduated from San Benito High School. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was always waiting for us outside when we visited. Rudy was a happy, go lucky guy. He enjoyed eating out and sharing with friends.
He is preceded in death by hos parents, Toribio and Lidia Ibarra Cortez; sister, Connie Cortez; brother, Roy Cortez; brother-in-law, Alfredo G. Flores; and nephew, Zorobabel Flores.
Left to cherish his loving memory are his four siblings, Daisy Flores, Manuel (Velma) Mercado, Jr., Cindy Cortez, Silvia (Tony) Barrera, and Elva Cortez.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Prayer Service at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas with cremation to follow in accordance with his wishes.
Special gratitude to the staff of Rio Grande City Nursing and Rehab Center.
