Rufus Pritchett, a beloved member of the Stilwell, Oklahoma community, passed away on July 11, 2024 His life, which began on August 13, 1948, was filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments with his family and friends. Rufus will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his loved ones. He cherished spending time with his family and found solace in attending church services. His dedication to his community and faith served as an inspiration to many.
In addition to his commitment to family and faith, Rufus had a variety of hobbies and interests that brought him joy. He found peace in fishing, hunting, cutting wood, and raising hogs. These activities allowed him to connect with nature and find serenity in the simplicity of life.
Rufus is survived by a large and loving family who will deeply miss him. He leaves behind his children Gary and Jennifer Pritchett of Muldrow, Oklahoma; Rufus "Sonny" Jr. and Kelly Pritchett of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; Sammy Pritchett of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; Kevin and Sylvia Pritchett of Stilwell, Oklahoma; Kyle and Brandy Pritchett of Stilwell, Oklahoma; Kaylan and Ronnie Leach of Stilwell, Oklahoma; Morgan Pritchett of Stilwell, Oklahoma; twenty-two grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; his sister Callie and Virgil Taylor of Greenwood, Arkansas; as well as brothers Sam Daugherty of Muldrow, Oklahoma; Harry Daugherty of Muldrow, Oklahoma.
Rufus was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Vina Pritchett, parents Columbus and Nancy Pritchett, sisters Sue Pritchett, Louella Brown, Juanita Sevenstar, Ruby Sawney, Caroline Pritchett; Louise Nofire; Nellie Green; brothers Willard Kirk Pritchett; William Sonny Pritchett; Jimmy Pritchett.
During this time of mourning, let us celebrate the life of Rufus Pritchett and the impact he had on those fortunate enough to know him. May his memories bring comfort to all who grieve his loss.
