With deep sorrow, we’d like to announce the passing of Ruoni Zhu, beloved mother, grandmother, wife, sister, and cherished friend, who departed this life peacefully at the age of 81 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in 1944, Ruoni lived a life marked by grace, intelligence, and compassion. A proud alumna of Tsinghua University, she adapted to many transitions of career and life, such as being an electrical engineer, a college professor, a computer graphics technician and a homemaker.
To her family, Ruoni was the heart of the home. Her friendliness, generosity, and tireless spirit also earned her many lifelong friendships. Her cooking brought comfort and joy; her dining table the center of gatherings and conversations. In her garden, she cultivated not only flowers and vegetables but also beauty, patience, and peace. Ruoni’s legacy is one of love, resilience, and quiet brilliance. She will live in our hearts forever.
Ruoni was predeceased by her Father Yifan, Mother Wenying and her brother Ruohong. She is survived by her husband Renyan, daughter Xiang, grandchildren Andrew, Julia, sisters Ruowen, Ruoyun, Ruoxia, brothers Ruolei, Ruolin, son-in-law Kaiyan, and many other beloved relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held with friends and family on Friday May 16th, 2025 7:30 pm at St. Louis Chinese Baptist Church, 908 Jungermann Road, St. Peters, MO 63376
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the St. Louis Chinese Baptist Church, who supported Ruoni and others through difficult times (Zelle ID: [email protected]), in Ruoni’s memory.
