Rus Kindrick

Rus Kindrick, age 80, of Centerville, Ohio, passed away Friday November 29, 2024 at Ohio's Hospice of Dayton. He was born in Dayton, Ohio, on August 13, 1944, son of the late Marie (Fantini) and William B. Kindrick. He was a nationally known antiques dealer and appraiser. Rus started buying and selling antiques while in grade school and never looked back. For many years he did free Antiques Appraisal events at Dayton Art Institute. Rus was BIG ~ in person, in knowledge, in talent and that takes up a lot of space. He was always ready to share that space with all. He was a terrific cook!! And now there is a big empty space. We have many great memories to fill that space, including his raucous laughter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Sally & Bob Ekkens. Rus is survived by his husband, Ron Dickman ~ they were married in 2004 and together for 47 years; his sister, Lori (Jeff) Holcomb; his nieces and nephews, Rachel (Chris) Ekkens – Goad ~ and their children Sydney & Alex, Ethan (Wei-Yun) Ekkens ~ and their son Xavier, Josh (Ashley Samuel) Stehno, and Katherine Stehno; devoted cousin Elissa (Keith) Sanders; brother-in-law David Dickman ~ and his son Lucas; his sister-in-law Victoria (Dickman) Ronk; and dear friend, Donna Sholiton. A Celebration of Life will be held 12 – 3 p.m., Sunday May 11, 2025, at the Hills & Dales Metro Park ~ Paw Paw Pavilion, 2471 Deep Hollow Road, Oakwood, OH 45419.
