Rusell C. Decker, 88, of Manchester, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Community Medical Center in Toms River. Born and raised in Elizabeth, Rusell spent his early years there and in Linden before settling in Manchester in 1960, where he built a life filled with hard work, laughter, and love. He proudly served his country in the Coast Guard for two years, and his dedication to service carried through every chapter of his life.
Rusell was a man of tireless energy, always working more than one job to provide for his family and pursue his passions. He spent over 20 years in Marketing with Beechnut Baby Foods and equally cherished his role as a Guard at Island Beach State Park, where he worked for more than two decades. Alongside these, he shared his financial expertise as an advisor with Stonex Investments. Beyond his professional life, Rusell found joy in the simple pleasures-gardening, fishing, boating, and especially spending time at the beach. He had a gift for making people laugh and carried a warmth that drew others to him. In the 1970s, he served as President of the Manchester Little League, leaving a lasting impact on the community and countless young athletes.
Rusell is predeceased by his beloved son, Rusell C. Decker, who passed in 2016. He is survived by his sons, Michael H. Decker and his wife Sandra, and William Decker; his devoted life partner, Joyce Blackwell & sons Ron, Mark and Chad; grandchildren Jolie, Katie, Jennifer, Michael, Averie, and Emily; stepchildren Erin, Ryan, Jelena, and Sianna; great-grandchildren Laura, Hailey, Alaina, Cadence, Meadow, Luca, and Rome; and great-great-grandchildren Ella and Marcus. His legacy of love and laughter lives on in each of them. A Life Celebration will be announced later, where family and friends will gather to honor Rusell's remarkable life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Boys Town, PO Box 8000, Boys Town, NE 68010, or online at www.boystown.org.
