Russell Arwood Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Williams Funeral Chapel - Warrensburg on May 16, 2022.
Russell Andrew Arwood, 84 of Centerview, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Lee's Summit Medical Center.
Russell was born February 26, 1938 in Warrensburg, Missouri to Ulys and Lucille (Whiteman) Arwood. He graduated from College High High School.
March 8, 1959 he married Jeanne Smith. They enjoyed many years together until her passing in December 1998. Just a few of the many things they enjoyed were card parties with their many friends, Pleasant Hill Country Music Show, UCM Mules & Jennies Basketball. He continued supporting the Mules & Jennies and eventually shared that love with his grandson, Alex. They attended many games together & traveled to a couple of championships as well.
Russell was a life long farmer and spent his entire adult life on the same farm. He was a hard-working man that wouldn't inconvenience anyone by asking for help. He would, however, drop whatever he was doing to help anyone else. Up until the day before he passed, he was outside doing what he loved. He is already missed by his lap cat, Snowball (she's black). He rarely had the television on but preferred looking on his computer to read news, watch cattle auctions or shop Craigslist.
4th of July will never be the same for the Ronnie Shaw family and the Arwood cousins because he rarely missed breakfast with the Arwood's or the annual celebration with the Shaw's. He always enjoyed Ronnie stopping by for a visit, for they were lifelong friends. His Arwood cousins were especially dear to him and he always looked forward to the many family events.
Russell will be missed by his other family. Mark & Barbara Shanks & their entire family. Mark was his best Buddy and Russell also enjoyed many family events with them as well. He and Mark have traveled many places, to see relatives, to all of Kerri's basketball games regardless how far it was. Las Vegas will never be the same without their twice a year trip. He treasured the entire family and they will miss him immensely.
He will be missed by his family that loved him most: Kent, Kari, Dan, Alex, Nathan, Shelly, Alea, Macy & Clayton
He was proceeded in death by his parents, wife, and siblings Helen Spiri and Larry Arwood. Warrensburg Memorial Gardens.
Memorial Donations are suggested to the Refuge on Ming in care of the funeral home.
