Russell Banner Obituary

Russell L. Banner, 74, of Latrobe, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2025, at Allegheny General Hospital. Born July 2, 1951, in Latrobe, he was the son of Evelyn M. (Clair) Banner of Tarentum and the late Charles R. Banner. Russell was a member of the Mount Pleasant Church of God. He enjoyed volunteering for the Mount Pleasant Food Bank as well as the monthly sub sales for Latrobe Volunteer Fire Department, Company No. 2. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Donna Adamczyk and Frances Dunlap. Russell is survived by two brothers, Richard Banner of Brackenridge and Dean Banner of Tarentum; four sisters, Kathleen Varner (Bill) of Latrobe, Charlene Tone of Tarentum, Mildred Rapoport (Brad) of Tarentum, and Linda Schultz of Florida; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Family and friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2025, at LOPATICH-BRINKER FUNERAL HOME LLC, 601 Weldon St., Latrobe. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2025, in the funeral home with the Rev. Brian Zeisloft officiating. Interment will follow at Unity Cemetery.
