Beloved husband of the late Margaret M. “Peggy” (Reade) Boostrom.
Loving father of Shawn J. and his wife Diane Boostrom of Rockland, Lisa M. Bennett of Quincy, Cynthia A. Bennett of Quincy, and Brian T. and his wife Janet Bennett of Brockton.
Devoted “Grandpa” of Andrew McCormick, Brenden Bennett, Ashley McCormick, Tayla Bennett, Ariana Boostrom, Shawn Boostrom II, and Violet Boostrom.
Great-grandfather of Savannah and Lilith.
Son of the late Clyde Boostrom and Helen (Gurley) Boostrom.
Brother of Margaret “Peggy” and her husband Kenneth Wright, Donna Handy and her late husband Michael Handy Sr., Sandra and her husband Joseph Campantello, Tina and her husband James Stappen, and the late William “Billy” Boostrom, Ellen Dexter, and Petra Boostrom.
Russell is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Russell’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the Murphy Funeral Home, 1020 Dorchester Ave., DORCHESTER, on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
Burial with Military Honors will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, on Wednesday morning, November 26, 2025, at 10:00 A.M.
Russell was a proud veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a recipient of the Bronze Star. He was past Commander of the James J. Rice Amvets Post # 28 in Dorchester. He was a retired truck driver for BFI Trucking for over 30 years.
