Russell Dean Davis, age 83, of Marionville, Missouri, passed away at 10:41p.m. on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, where he was a resident at the Missouri Veterans Home. He was born August 28, 1942, in Springfield, Missouri, to Loyd and Thelma (Eisenhower) Davis. He was raised by his paternal grandparents, Clyde and Neva (Richardson) Davis, in Abesville, Missouri.
Russell was a 1960 graduate of Galena High School and was a United States Army
Veteran with the 39th Engineer Battalion serving during Vietnam. Russell retired from the Carpenters Union and was also known for making White Oak baskets.
Russell was a proud member of the National Reigning Horse Association, and his biggest enjoyment was riding and training horses. If you were a horse person, then you knew who Russell was.
Russell spent many hours coaching his son, Jon Erin's, baseball teams. He taught many "life lessons" to Jon Erin on the farm as well as during his teenage years. Russell's pride and joy was his grandson, Jakey. He was always proud to show off Jakey to his friends.
Russell is survived by his son, Jon Erin (Kathy), Jon Erin's mother, Margo, who resides at the Ozarks Methodist Manor; grandson, Jacob Davis; step-mother, Helen Davis; siblings, Roger Davis, Paulette Croslin (Larry), Roberta Oczkus (John), Debbie Uhlmann (Steve), Sandra Davis and Adam Davis.
Russell was preceded in death by Loyd and Thelma (Eisenhower) Davis, Clyde, and Neva (Richardson) Davis; siblings, Dale Davis, Merle Mallonee, Marie Gamble, Doris Cutbirth, Stephen Eisenhower and Jerry Davis and sister-in-law, Deanna Davis
A visitation will be held from 5:00–7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 13, 2025, at Williams Funeral Home in Marionville, Missouri.
