Russell T Hays

Russell Thomas Hays, 70, longtime resident of Piedmont, MO, passed away Monday, March 30, 2026, at his residence. Russell was born January 27, 1956, at Gideon, MO, to parents John and Shirley (Ackridge) Hays. He was a graduate of Clarkton High School and had worked many years as a senior area field manager of Uhaul. On May 4, 1996, Russell married Debra Sherrill. Russell lived his life to the fullest and enjoyed playing golf with friends at Piedmont Canyon Club. He had a personality of a southern gentleman and never met a stranger. His kindness and humor was a blessing to all those around him.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his loving wife Debbie, of the home; his brother Eric Hays and wife Susie of Poplar Bluff, MO; sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Joe and Judy Dean of Annapolis; and nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 1, 2026, from 1:30 pm at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 pm, also at Piedmont chapel. Burial will be at Annapolis Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.rueggfuneralhomes.com
