Russell Poles Jr..

Russell Poles Jr. was born to Russell Poles Sr. and Annie Laura Poles in Leaf, Mississippi on March 1, 1953. After one year, the family moved to Los Angeles, CA, for four years, then moved to Tulare, CA. He graduated from Tulare Union High School in 1971. He played basketball and became a star track athlete who set records in various events and competed for the valley section titles. His father trained Russell Jr. to become an automotive mechanic. Russell Jr leaves behind his siblings Barbara Dodson (spouse Larry Dodson), Dennis James, Arlene James, Sylvester "Bobo" James, Brenda James, Melinda Webb (spouse Leonard Webb), James Brown and Bill "Macio" Brown; his sons Russell Poles III, Keon Poles, Demondre Tias Poles and Sherill Rushon Poles and his daughters Deana Curtis and Kokisha Akia Poles; host of grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by both parents, eldest sister Minnie Pearl Moore, and brother Michael James.
