Russell Lee Scarborough, born on December 24, 1968, in Ft Stewart, Hinesville, Georgia, passed away on December 19, 2025, at the Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia. He is remembered for his unwavering kindness, sense of humor, and genuine interest in others.
There will be a memorial visitation on Sunday, December 21, 2025 at Albritton Funeral Directors from 4:30 - 6:00 P.M. A private interment will be held at a later date in the Mt. Calvary Global Methodist Church Cemetery.
Russell had a distinguished career as a safety officer for the USDA Agricultural Research Service.. His commitment to education was also evident as he served as an online professor at Valdosta State University, imparting knowledge in business administration to countless students. He held a Doctorate in Business Administration from Valdosta State University, a testament to his dedication to learning and teaching.
A proud veteran, Russell served honorably in the United States Navy, where he developed a spirit of service that continued throughout his life. In previous years he volunteered at the Irwin County Waterloo voting precinct and dedicated time to the Waterloo Fire Department, further illustrating his commitment to his community.
Russell adored his canine companions, Frances and Lillie, who were integral parts of his life. He enjoyed video games and was fond of watching television, often taking pleasure in Sudoko and logic puzzles. Known for his infectious laughter, he brought joy to those around him and was admired by all his nephews and took great care of this Mom and Mother-in-Law.
In life, Russell shared a loving partnership with his wife of twenty- seven years, Connie Elizabeth Baker Scarborough. He leaves behind many cherished memories with his family, including his brother James Scarborough and sister-in-law Debbie Scarborough.
Russell will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, especially by those whose lives he touched with his kindness, humor, and unwavering support. He is predeceased by his beloved child, Jake Scarborough, his father Dan H. Scarborough, and his mother Lynda Ruth Miller Scarborough. In his memory, we celebrate a life devoted to service, family, and friendship.
