Russell Irving Schultz

Russell Irving Schultz, age 66, of Brenham, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2026.

Russell was born on July 23, 1959 to Lynwood and Barbara Schultz. He lived a life centered around the people and things he loved most-his family, the outdoors, and his favorite pastimes.

He was known for his love of fishing, his passion for NASCAR, and his enjoyment of working on cars. Most importantly, he cherished the time he spent with his family. Russell created lasting memories with those closest to him and will be remembered for his presence, his interests, and the love he shared.

Russell is preceded in death by his parents and survived by his beloved wife, Mary Ellen Schultz; his children, Douglas Salas and his wife, Margie Salas; Natalie Mares; and AJ Mares and his wife, Stefanie Mares; his 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; his sister, Debbie Jones and her husband, David Jones, and their children; and his brother, Alan Schultz and his wife, Dawna Schultz, and their children. He also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

A celebration of life will be held on April 18, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Grace Community Fellowship, 107 S. Saeger Street, Brenham, Texas.
