Russell Tomlinson Obituary
Russell Ward Tomlinson Jr., 82, of Paducah, died Monday, Oct. 27, 2025, at Calvert City Nursing and Rehab.
He will be remembered for his deep love of people, and for the joy he found in sharing his many talents with others. A gifted artist, he spent countless hours drawing, painting, and building things with his hands, creating beauty in everything he touched. He had a special appreciation for history and nature, often spending time searching for the perfect rock, arrowheads or adding to his treasured coin collection. Though his artwork was admired by many, he never asked for payment-his greatest reward was seeing the smiles and happiness his creations brought to others.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Tomlinson of Paducah; one son, Richard Jason Tomlinson (Kathy) of Justin, Texas; two daughters, Debbie Acree of Paducah and Kim Bruce of Calvert City; two stepdaughters, Gina Gullo and Maria Gullo, both of Paducah; one stepson, Scott Gullo (Adriana) of Greensboro, North Carolina; eleven grandchildren, Lauren Muir, Ethan Tomlinson (Marissa), Evan Tomlinson, Mackenzie Bruce, Madison Bruce (Caitlin), Meredith Bruce, Vanessa Acree, Noah May (Brooke), Alexandra Baeza, Collin Baeza, and Parker Gullo; four greatgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell Ward Tomlinson, Sr. and Mayme Helen (Barker) Tomlinson; and one sister, Judy Borden.
Funeral Mass will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Calvert City with Brian Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Paducah.
There will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Pius X Building Fund, 723 5th Ave SE, Calvert City, KY 42029.
