Russell Ray “Russ” VonHagen, 72, of Clarks Grove, passed away on November 30, 2024, at his home.

Born on May 1, 1952, in Northwood, IA, Russell lived a life filled with joy, laughter, and unwavering love for his family. He was the son of Oliver VonHagen and Evelyn (Lindley) Bennett, both of whom instilled in him the values of hard work and compassion.

Russell's journey began when he started working at Kerry Ingredients at the tender age of 14, dedicating an impressive 57 years to the company. He was known not only for his hard work and commitment but also for his infectious spirit that brightened the workplace and beyond. On June 15, 1996, he married the love of his life, Diane, and together they created a beautiful family.

Russell had an infectious spirit, often being the life of the party, and his playful sense of humor brought immense joy to those around him. He was a talented dancer, and his love for dancing with Diane will forever resonate in the hearts of those who witnessed their moving connection. Beyond his love for family and work, Russell had a passion for the thrill of stock car racing in Lansing, MN, as well as a keen interest in NASCAR and football. He enjoyed camping under the stars, creating cherished memories with his loved ones. His kind heart and generous spirit touched the lives of many, making him a great provider and a source of unwavering support.

Russell is survived by his children, Jason Baumgarten, Shane Hanson, Angie Williams, and Katie Jo VonHagen; a step-daughter, Bobbie Jo (Robby) Gilbertson; eight grandchildren, Morgan, Ashley, Jaliyah, Jamari, Jay, Kayla, Jenessa, and McKayla; four great-grandchildren, Lilliana, Carter, Everly, and Kinsley; two sisters, Edna (Ryan) Callahan and Marilyn Soto; a brother, Wayne VonHagen; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

In addition to his parents, Oliver and Evelyn, Russell was preceded in death by his wife, Diane; and two brothers, William and Dennis VonHagen.
