Russell Whitman Jr.

Mr. Russell Allen Whitman, Jr., 92, of Linden, passed away Monday November 24, 2025 at the Perry County Nursing Home. He was born in Williamston, Massachusetts to the late Russell Allen Whitman, Sr. and Eleanor Krutch Whitman. Russell was a United States Navy Veteran, having served 22 years before retiring. He was a member of the Perry County Veterans and the VFW in Athens, Tn. After retiring from the Navy, Russell worked at Proctor & Gamble before officially retiring. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, doing woodworking and especially selling his flea market goods.

In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by his wife Harriett Whitman, a daughter Holly Whitman, a son Miles Whitman, granddaughters Miranda Blankenship and Katelyn Campbell and a sister Charlotte Jones.

Survivors include his children Ron (Margaret) Whitman of Linden, Nina (Terry) Huskey of Sweetwater, Tn. and Rusty (Susan Peterson) of La Fayette, Georgia, 10 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson, several nieces and nephews and a host of other family members and many friends.
