BYRON, IL ~ Rusty Marvin Gile, age 62, passed away at his home in Byron, IL, on Sunday, November 16, 2025. He was born on September 4, 1963, in Winona, MN, to Marvin Lawrence & Doris Mary (Pruka) Gile. Rusty graduated from Byron High School in 1981 and went on to work as a truck driver, like his father, for many years. He enjoyed his work at CCX and Yellow (YRC) and worked hard, always making sure the job got done right. Above all, he loved his family the most, having married the love of his life, Rachel Moll, on December 27, 2024, in Rockford, IL. Rusty loved to laugh, always being a comedian and making friends and family happy. He truly was a friend to all. He also loved to fish, especially with his wife. He was an avid Miami Dolphins and Minnesota Twins fan. He would also often go antiquing, hunting, play euchre, travel or spend time at the Hard Rock Casino. He was very mechanically inclined and helped many neighbors and friends with their cars and houses. His dogs, Cooper and Roxie, were a huge part of his life, they always brought a smile to his face. He is preceded in death by his father, Marvin Lawrence Gile. He is survived and missed dearly by his loving wife Rachel Gile of Byron; mother Doris Mary Gile; children Brandon (Shelby) Gile of Brandon, WI; Morgan (Aaron) Pagles of Stillman Valley, IL; “adopted daughter” Lily Thompson of Janesville, WI; grandchildren, Gwyn; Henrietta; Violet; Jalen; siblings, Becky Anderson of West Alice, WI; Rocky (Madonna) Gile of Rockford, IL; Rory Gile of Byron, IL; Monty Gile of Byron, IL; Stacey (Pat) Carney of Bristol, WI; Rodney Gile of Milwaukee, WI; Holly (Bruce) Koppang of Plainfield, IL; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Monty Gile and Wendy Siebert for their loving care and compassion over the past few months.
