Rusty and beautiful Renee have been instrumental in bringing our family closer to Jesus Christ! We raised our children together even up to Hillsdale, and both Rusty and Renee have been leaders in all, filled with joy and faith. Their sons are incredible young men who are shining examples to our own children. Rusty was especially a light to my husband Bob joining him in various men's groups and just visiting together, figuring out how to conquer the world, one prayer together at a time! We thank God for Rusty's amazing life in Christ, and while we pray for him always, we entrust his soul to our loving and merciful Father, presenting all he has done with his life serving God...

Rusty and his family were a core part of my life growing up. He was 9 years older than me, so was a very cool cousin in my eyes as a kid: played drums, was a runner, skied, just all around cool. The times our families were together on the Little Manistee are priceless memories (complete with my brother and I deciding to join him on our bikes for a "quick 10-mile run" before dinner; we didn´t last).
Rusty was a great comfort when my brother and I lost our dad, Don, in 2004. His sharing of stores and his absolute love for our dad brought much peace to our hearts.
My daughter, Tegan, enjoyed learning about her Korhonen roots in part by Rusty´s storytelling. She shares a deep connection and sadness in his passing.
Renee, Jay, and Brandon - we are so saddened by your loss. Rusty was one of a kind and so loved by all who knew him.
