Glenn Russell West (Rusty) 65 of Oak Ridge, TN, died on Friday, April 25, 2025.
Rusty was born in Oak Ridge, TN, on January 23, 1960, then raised in Louisville, KY, later permanently residing in Oak Ridge in 1977.
Rusty was a jack-of-all-trades, including being an iron worker in the Local 384, a machinist at Atomic City Tool, a carpenter flipping and remodeling houses, maintaining his multiple rental properties, and eventually retiring from the City of Oak Ridge as the concrete foreman.
Rusty had many hobbies he enjoyed. He was an avid car enthusiast, especially muscle cars, owning many throughout his life. He had a love for Harley-Davidson motorcycles, attending Bike Week numerous times. He played golf, making two hole-in-ones. He liked bowling and had a perfect 300 game.
He was a devoted family man. He married his best friend, Shari, in 1980. Together they had three children and seven grandchildren.
He enjoyed spending time with his family at his lake house in Kingston, TN, and driving his classic cars. He was particularly fond of his '56 Chevy.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Shari; children, Jessica, Brandon (Rachel), and Stephanie; and grandchildren, Haleigh, Eden, Ethan, Kyleigh, Landon, Jackson, and River.
Special life-long best friend, Gary Poenie of Louisville, KY.
He is preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Glenn C. and Ellen West of Oak Ridge; younger brother, Dustin West of Knoxville, TN; and his favorite dog, a German Shepherd, Sophie Russell.
Rusty will be cremated, and no services are planned.
