Ruth Munck Alfano

Ruth Munck Alfano was born December 26, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan and passed away on September 26, 2016. Ruth was the only child of Dolores Sanderson. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Marvin John Munck and married William Alfano in 1985 who passed away in November 2011. Ruth is survived by her two sons, Robert Munck and David Munck (Sandy). Also surviving her granddaughter Stephanie (Jason) Carpenter and two great-grandsons Jacob and Mathew Carpenter. Sandy's children Samantha (Alex), Faith (Anthony) and the late Robert, Great-granddaughter Amelia, step-daughter Marcia (Michael) Wyatt, and stepson Leonard Alfano. Ruth retired as a crossing guard after over twenty years of service with Detroit Public Schools. And was a long-time resident of Detroit. Ruth was a caregiver to many family members. She was a devoted fan of the Tigers and Red Wings. Her favorite hobby was listening to police scanners. Ruth was also a long-time member of Mt. Hope Methodist Church of Detroit. Visitation will take place on Wednesday November 28 from 2 until 9 pm at the A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Avenue, Grosse Pointe Woods. The funeral service will take place on Thursday 10 am at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hometown Hospice 1881 Woodbridge Park Drive, Lapeer, MI.48446
