Ruth "Ruthie" E. Allen, 65, of rural Bluffton, passed away Monday afternoon, Sept. 8, 2025, at her residence.

Ruthie was born in Bluffton on Nov. 8, 1959, to Robert L. and Nova I. (Baumgartner) Steffen. Both parents preceded her in death. She married Curtis "Curt" J. Allen in Warren on Aug. 29, 1992. He preceded her in death on Apr. 23, 2025.

Ruthie graduated from Bluffton High School in 1978. She currently had been working as a CNA at Christian Care Retirement Community in Bluffton for the past fifteen years, and prior to that, had worked as a teller at Wells Fargo Bank in Bluffton for several years.

Ruthie attended Life Community Church in Bluffton and enjoyed riding her bike and hiking trails in Ouabache State Park. She also enjoyed quilting and crocheting. Family was everything to Ruthie, and she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include a son, Spencer J. (Taeler) Allen of Bluffton; a stepson, Cory J. Allen of Texas; four grandchildren, Seager and Steele Allen, and Corson and Lillie Allen; along with a sister, Karen Boxell of Warren.

Visitation will be Friday, Sept. 12, 2025, from noon until 2:00 PM, at Goodwin – Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton, followed immediately by a memorial service at 2:00 PM. Tony Garton will officiate. Private family burial will be held at Elm Grove Cemetery in Bluffton.

Memorial contributions may be made to Friends of Ouabache State Park.
