Ruth Anderson Obituary
She was born on Sept. 3, 1933 in Ottumwa to Oramel Glen and Bernadena Sutton Renfrew. She married John M. Anderson on Jan. 1, 1952 in Ottumwa. He preceded her in death on Nov. 26, 2016. She was a homemaker and worked at Fort Madison High School. She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish in Burlington and enjoyed sewing, quilting, crafts and gardening.
Ruth is survived by two daughters: Cheryl (Stanley) Ball of Montrose and Jayne (Dan) Hill of Burlington; three sons: Patrick Anderson of Overland Park, Kan., Michael (Diane) Anderson of Keokuk and Douglas (Teresa) Anderson of Chandler, Ariz.; 19 grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; a sister Barbara Orman of Bloomfield; two sisters-in-law: Betty Anderson of Fort Madison and Juanita Anderson of Ottumwa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sisters: Mildred Hopkins and Marjorie O'Dell.
A visitation will be held on Monday, March 30, 2026 from 2-3 p.m. at King-Lynk Funeral Home with a funeral service to immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Dean Graber officiating. A memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at Sacred Heart Church with Revs. Jake Greiner and Gary Beckman officiating. Burial will follow at Soldiers' Circle in Oakland Cemetery.
