WORCESTER-Ruth Ann (Lavallee) Banfill, 79, of Worcester, passed peacefully to heaven on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Saint Vincent Hospital, with her loving children and grandchildren by her side.
She leaves her husband, the love of her life for 59 years, Elton C. Banfill who resides at the Masonic Home in Charlton; her daughter, Beverly A. Fowler and her husband David of Charlton; her son and caretaker, William Banfill, with whom she lived, and his fiance Francine; and her daughter Donna Banfill of Worcester. She also leaves two grandchildren, Belinda Weaver and her husband Peter of Worcester and Robert Hendrickson and his fiance, Colleen of Worcester; and seven great grandchildren, Tyler, Abigail, Zachary, Brooklynne, Isaiah, Savannah and Ava. She was predeceased by her infant daughter Debra Ann in 1958.
Ruth was born in Worcester, daughter of Francis A. and Olive H. (Olson) Lavallee and graduated from Commerce High School in 1954. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. She worked at Allegro Microsystems,formerly Sprague Electric, retiring after 28 years. Ruth was an avid Nascar Racing fan and she enjoyed playing cards and dancing. The family would like to thank the nurses and Dr. Sadat at Saint Vincent Hospital ICU for the wonderful and compassionate care they provided.
Ruth's Funeral Service will be held Monday, April 4 at 11:00 AM at LINDQUIST LUNDIN Funeral Home, 36 Butler Street, Worcester. Burial will follow at Hope Cemetery. A visiting hour will also be held on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
