Ruth Bennett

Ruth (Knowles) Bennett 91, of Lebanon, formerly Cambridge died Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at her residence. Born April 12, 1918 to William and Lenora (Fowl) Knowles, Ruth's family immigrated from England and she was their first child born in the United States. Ruth graduated from Miami University with a Bachelors degree in Education and taught in the Cambridge, OH school district for 10 years, retiring in the early 1980's. She had been a resident of Lebanon for 19 years and was an active member of Lebanon Presbyterian Church, Countryside YMCA and former member of Lebanon Garden Club. She was also a longtime volunteer for the American Red Cross while living in Cambridge. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert C. Bennett, Jr., infant daughter, Susan Jane Bennett and three brothers, Tom, Frank and Roy Knowles. Survivors include her son, Rob Bennett (Trish) of Lebanon, daughter, Nancy Bentz (Doug) of Maineville, and 4 grandchildren, Robb Bennett, Susan Bentz, Laura Bentz and Erik Bentz. The visitation will be held Saturday, March 6, 2010 1-2 pm with the service at 2 pm at Bundy-Law Funeral Home. Rev. William C. Johnson will officiate the service with burial following in Northwood Cemetery. Memorial donations are requested to the Warren County Humane Association.
