Ruth Alien Boggs

Ruth Alien Boggs, 97 Powhatan, died July 26, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her loved ones. Born March 23, 1928, in Black Rock; daughter of the late Andy and Lillie Flood Mashburn. Ruth was united in marriage to Chester Fay Bogg in 1946. She worked as a seamstress for a purse factory; and was a homemaker. She enjoyed making quilts, going fishing and watching Westerns. She is preceded by her parents; her husband, Fay; two children, Tommy Gene and Daniel Monroe Boggs; and several siblings. Survivors include her four children, Leta Medlock of Powhatan, James "Charles" Boggs of Annieville, Chester Boggs (Sharon) of Pocahontas, and Lester Boggs (Delois) of Imboden; sixteen grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; two sisters, Evelyn Phillips of Powhatan, and Lula Taylor of Portia; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at 2 P.M. in the Faith Worship Center in Portia with Bro. Steve and Bro. Brian Alexander officiating. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Interment will follow in the Powhatan Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 P.M. till 2 P.M. Tuesday.
